Full-stack PHP Developer
We are currently looking for Full-stack Developers to join our newly formed Flight Planning Team in central Stockholm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to work in a developer team in a mid-sized company, serving a large and passionate user base worldwide.
About Navigraph
Navigraph is a SaaS company providing aviation fans and aspiring pilots with charts, navigation data, flight planning tools, and training material. Our 1.7 million users fly everything from Microsoft Flight Simulator to X-Plane. With our Electronic Flight Bag, virtual avionics, flight planning tools, performance calculators, and teaching material we’re the trusted co-pilot for any serious virtual aviator.
We have a diverse tech stack consisting of PHP, TS and some Rust and C#, where most apps are based on React and React Native - all with a strong focus on usability and modern design. Our mission? To make flight simulation as realistic and immersive as possible by making data, software, and tools like those available to the aviation industry accessible for flight simulation gaming.
We're a team of 50+, including software developers, UX and graphic designers, data analysts, content producers, motion designers, and support specialists. Navigraph was founded by Stephen O'Connell (CTO) and Magnus Axholt (CEO), both of whom are still active in the company. We've grown considerably but kept the collaborative, creative culture we started with.
Check out our career site for more information on who we are ✨.
What makes us different
Navigraph is privately held, profitable, and built on the principle that people come first. That means prioritizing product quality and employee satisfaction.
The problem space is unusual: professional aviation complexity, consumer-grade usability expectations, and platforms spanning mobile, web, desktop, and in-simulator environments, including VR. You won't find this combination elsewhere.
The Role and the Team
You will join the Flight Planning Team and play a key role in the development of SimBrief, the number one flight planning tool used by flight simmers, bringing new features to enthusiastic users all around the world. Its advanced planning and performance features closely mimics those used by real pilots and airlines.
SimBrief is built on the LAMP stack and besides writing code you are expected to work, maintain and improve the rest of the stack. Hence a requirement is to be comfortable not only in PHP but with handling configuration of the webservers, databases etc in a GNU/Linux environment. An example here is working with the team to move the service to the same cloud setup that the rest of Navigraph is using.
The team will be split up between Canada and Sweden, with you and another colleague working from the Stockholm office.

The way we work is innovative, exploratory, creative, progressive and decentralized, with quick decisions. We have laid a cultural foundation of a Creative Learning Culture. One example of how we support this is Navigraph Lab Hours, 4 hours dedicated to experimental work every other week!
Our team members are found all across the planet - from Los Angeles to Christchurch. Together we work relentlessly towards our goal: to provide our ever-growing registered user base with the best products possible to support their flight simulation adventures.
