Flight Simulator Software Developer
🚀 Flight Sim Enthusiasts, This One’s for You! ✈️ Navigraph is pushing flight simulation tech forward! We need a Flight Sim Software Developer to work on MSFS SDK, avionics, and more. Apply now!
Navigraph is taking flight simulation technology to new heights. We’re now looking for a Flight Sim Software Developer to join our Simulator Development team, a group of passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds and a deep interest in flight simulation and technology. The team is responsible for driving their own products, including but not limited to avionics integrations and third-party SDKs, while also supporting other product teams with simulator integrations and expertise. This variety offers flexibility to shape your role based on your interests and strengths. While the primary focus is on simulator development, there are also opportunities to contribute to projects beyond that scope.
✈️ About Navigraph
Navigraph is where the flight simulation community finds its wings! We provide charts, navigation data, flight planning tools, and training materials to make virtual flying as realistic as possible.
With a modern tech stack, we focus on highly performant integrations, real-time GIS data processing, and seamless flight sim experiences. Our HQ is in Stockholm, but our team spans the globe, collaborating in an innovation-driven environment. We are in an excellent position to grow and will provide you with all the means necessary to excel in your work.
What You’ll Do as a Flight Sim Software Developer!
We believe you have a strong interest in aviation, experience developing add-on software, and a solid understanding of the simulator platform's possibilities and limitations. We place great emphasis on you as a person, your knowledge, and what you are passionate about. We also hope you have previous experience working in cross-functional teams, where daily collaboration with others to achieve common goals has been a natural part of your work.
Navigraph’s head office is in Stockholm, but we work primarily remotely. You don’t need to be based in Stockholm, but you should be located in a time zone that allows for regular virtual meetings during Swedish office hours.
What We’re Looking For!
Solid software development experience.
Proficiency in TypeScript and Rust, including advanced language features and ecosystem tooling.
In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Flight Simulator and its SDK in both the JavaScript and WASM environments, developer tools, file structures, and data models.
Documented experience of development in MSFS Avionics Framework.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Good understanding of low-level software engineering concepts like memory management, performance optimization, concurrency, and thread safety.
Bonus Skills
Active flight simulator pilot with a deep interest in flight simulation.
Previous employment or membership in any flight simulator add-on software development group is a merit.
Experience with low-level languages other than Rust, such as C/C++.
A portfolio showcasing exceptional proficiency in MSFS development.
Skills in debugging complex systems and performing reverse engineering when documentation is limited or unavailable.
Experience with cross-platform desktop application frameworks such as Tauri and Electron.
Experience with other technologies from our tech stack, including React, NestJS, Next.js, Docker, Python, and QT.
A passion for developer experience and ways to improve it through documentation and SDKs.
What We Offer!
Flexible hiring: On-site, hybrid or remote (located in a time zone that allows for regular virtual meetings during Swedish office hours).
A great benefits package; please check out our career site.
Growth Opportunities: We’ll support your professional development and give you the resources to excel.
Memorable experiences: The Navigraph team is a tight-knit group with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We enjoy spending time together, and it is not uncommon for our yearly trips to flight simulator conventions in Europe and the U.S. to be combined with team-building activities that leave lasting impressions!
