3D Artist (freelance)
About Navigraph
Navigraph is where the flight simulation community finds its wings! ✈️ We’re a SaaS company providing charts, navigation data, flight planning tools, and training materials to aviation fans and aspiring pilots. With over 1.3 million users flying everything from Microsoft Flight Simulator to X-Plane, we’re the trusted co-pilot for both virtual and real-world aviators.
Headquartered in Stockholm, our global team of 40 aviation-loving professionals thrives on creativity, collaboration, and a shared passion for flight. Under the leadership of our founders, Magnus Axholt (CEO) and Stephen O’Connell (CTO), Navigraph has become a vibrant workplace where ideas take off every day.
We are now on the lookout for a freelance 3D artist on an ongoing assignment to join our Content Team.
Your Role as a freelancing 3D Artist
At Navigraph, we believe 3D graphics is a powerful way to communicate complex concepts, especially in aviation. As a 3D Artist, you will create visual assets and animations for:
- YouTube videos (like those for Navigraph Academy)
- Social media content and digital ads
- Tutorials and support material for our users
Your first major project will involve Navigraph Academy, our initiative to teach flight simulator enthusiasts how to fly and use flight simulators for aviation training. You’ll work on animating our articulated Cessna 172 model, visualizing airflow, traffic patterns, meteorological phenomena, approach procedures, and more.
As you grow in the role, you’ll be challenged to create more models of aircraft, avionics, and other assets that make aviation training exciting and accessible. An interest in flight simulation is a huge bonus and will help you thrive in this role.
What You’ll Need
Required Skills:
- Expertise in 3D modeling software like 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, or Cinema 4D.
- Proficiency in creating detailed 3D models and animations.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop (image processing).
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing).
- Experience with Adobe After Effects.
- Experience with Figma.
We think you’ll love working with us if you are:
- Friendly and communicative: You enjoy collaboration and teamwork.
- Obsessed with detail: Precision is your superpower.
-
Passionate about aviation or flight simulation: You bring your enthusiasm to every project
This role can either be based in Stockholm (hybrid) or completely remote.
